Westside German Shepherd Rescue of Los Angeles is a non profit 501(c)3, no kill rescue committed to saving all types of German Shepherd Dogs from high kill shelters and adopting them to loving, qualified homes.

Dakota von Durenberg

Dakota von Durenberg is a handsome 6 year old long hair sweetie pie. He is at a great age; past the stage where you are constantly finding ways to channel his energy so he doesn’t get bored and destroy your stuff but not even close to being a total couch potato. His foster mom loves that he is past the point of thinking that his name is No or Leave It. Dakota has a very calm energy and is happy just to hang out with you but is ready to go and play whenever you are. He loves to chase the lizards that crawl along the brick walls of the backyard. If he only had thumbs he could probably catch one. Taking him for a walk is a pleasure because he stays right with you and at the end of the walk your arm is still in its socket and your knees will not need first aid. He is housebroken, knows how to use a doggie door and has great house manners. Dakota loves human attention and will put his huge paw on you as if to say don’t stop. He is an easy dog and would do well in most any home. He gets along with his foster canine brother and sister, but if truth be told he prefers human company. We feel that he would do best in a home with a female dog, but he can be an only dog too. If you are looking for a big Teddy Bear, Dakota is your boy.
